These past few months have been a whirlwind of activity for us! The beginning of this year has been no different. We just returned from a trip to see my family. It was bittersweet as we had to say goodbye to a most beloved grandmother, but we said hello to other family and enjoyed our time together, remembering and ringing in the new year. Our drive home included stopping in Denver to meet a new baby, and then experiencing 70 mile per hour wind gusts in Wyoming. I do believe that is way more tense than a blizzard. We have experienced both now along that stretch of road, and seeing trucks overturned along the road because of wind gusts was nail-biting. We made it back safely and then slept. Oh it did feel nice to be in our own beds again. Now as the first Monday in 2014 is here, we are back on schedule in school, work and chores. I am considering this day my official start to the new year. There is excitement mixed with uncertainty about the upcoming year and all that it holds for us, but as my header says, “I do not know what lies around the bend, but I am going to believe that the best does.” L.M. Happy New Year to all of you and thank you so much for reading this space of mine.
