Antique Barn Wood Table

The weather is getting warmer, and my desire to eat outside is very strong!  But I did not have a very good outdoor table to eat on, and zero chairs.  So I took this antique barn wood table that I made myself and moved it to the center of my patio.  Then I went to the store to try and hunt down chairs that would fit into our budget, and the stars must have been aligned just right because the first store I went to, I found clearance chairs that work perfectly!  Don’t you love it when that happens?

Now about the table.  Several years ago, I purchased barn wood that was from a 100 year old torn down barn.  I have used it for so many things.  There were some longer pieces left a year ago, and I desperately wanted a herb garden on my back porch.  So I made this table out of saw horses I purchased from Lowes and painted red.  Then I linked the barn wood panels together and made a very long table.  Turns out, my herb garden needed more sunlight, so this year the table I made either needed to be moved or dismantled.  I must say, I like this idea much better.  It is a great place to eat, and fills my need to up cycle and recreate items.

Easy project and relatively cheap.  But more than anything, it is a great table full of history, ready to create more history with a family of five eating at it during the summer.
